The ashes have cooled on King’s Landing after the penultimate episode of Game of Thrones, leaving some of us wondering, are the people who named their daughters Khaleesi or Daenerys experiencing some name regret after her dramatic turn from conqueror and potential savior to . . . something else? From some anecdotal evidence, perhaps not! From Vulture.com:

“I don’t have any regrets,” says Hector Morales Rivera, a technical specialist living in Pennsylvania, who has a 6-year-old daughter named Daenerys. “I still love her name, I have very fond memories because of that name, because of how attached I have been to this series.”

From the same article, the Cisneros of Texas make an interesting point:

“Some of my friends named their kid ‘Anakin,’” Danny says, referring to Star Wars’ Anakin Skywalker, a.k.a. Darth Vader. “It’s much like that.”

Also in the news this week, the Social Security Administration released its Top Names of 2018. Emma and Liam continue their reign at the top of the list, but a few names dropped out and a few new ones dropped into the top 10. (See our analysis and favorite fast-rising picks.)

Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West just had their fourth child, a boy.

They haven’t yet announced their son’s name, but the use of the bear emoji has people buzzing–did they name him Bear? And if they did, would he become the most famous human Bear? For now, Tiger still holds the top spot for animal-named celebs. Question to you, readers: Would you give your baby an animal-inspired name?

Some more celebrity babies on their way: Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are expecting their third child to join siblings James and Inez, and Keira Knightley and her husband are expecting their second, a sibling to little Edie Knightley Righton.
